Short description
In a world connected by YouTube, iTunes, and Facebook, Lola and her friends navigate the peer pressures of high school romance and friendship while dodging their sometimes overbearing and confused parents. When Lola's mom, Anne, "accidentally" reads her teenage daughter's racy journal, she realizes just how wide their communication gap has grown.
What's left behind the scenes
- Lisa Azuelos is also the director and screenwriter of the first adaptation of the film ('LOL', 2008). It was a French film starring Sophie Marceau. Azuelos filmed it realizing that in her homeland of France, there are practically no films based on the lives of teenagers. She often watched her daughter go to the cinema to watch either a film about American teenagers or a horror film.
- Tish Cyrus – Miley Cyrus' mother, who played the main role in the film – also joined the producers of 'The Last Summer'.
- The film takes place in Chicago (but was actually filmed in Detroit), and near Kyle's apartment, a group of RenCen mansions is shown, which are located in Detroit.
