• The working title of the film was “Omen 666.” From the moment the first rumors of a remake appeared, the release date was strictly fixed – June 6, 2006 (06.06.06). As is known, the number “666” is the number of the Antichrist.
• The role of Katherine Thorn was initially offered to Rachel Weisz. However, Rachel was forced to decline the tempting offer due to being pregnant. Among other candidates for the role were Laura Linney, Hope Davis, Alicia Witt, and Mia Farrow. Meanwhile, Ms. Farrow played a significant role in the final choice – it was she who recommended Julia Stiles.
• Harvey Stephens, who played Damien in the original 1976 film, appeared in a cameo role. He played a reporter for a tabloid newspaper.
• The main characters were significantly younger compared to the original film. This was done to maximize appeal to the film's primary target audience – teenagers.
• The majority of location shooting took place in the Czech Republic.
