Short description
American tourists David and Jack are savaged by an unidentified vicious animal whilst hiking on the Yorkshire Moors. Retiring to the home of a beautiful nurse to recuperate, David soon experiences disturbing changes to his mind and body.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The director saw David Noton in an advertisement for Dr. Pepper and invited him to play the role of David Kessler.
  • Michael Jackson liked the film very much, so he invited Landis to shoot the music video for the song "Thriller", which resulted in a 14-minute video clip that is still considered one of the best.
  • John Landis made the first script drafts back in 1969, when he was 18 years old. But at that time, there was no money for filming, and sponsors considered the idea for this film too risky. After making the successful film 'The Blues Brothers' in 1980, Landis easily found the required 10 million dollars.
