• The character of Brady Allen, Robbie, was named after Robbie Mannheim – a child who was possessed by demons in 1949, requiring an exorcism to save his life.
• As with the previous three films in the series, Paramount Studios used the services of paranormal investigator Christopher Chacon for international advertising of this film, who is recognized as one of the world's leading authorities in the field of the paranormal.
• The parents in the film, played by Steven Danem and Alexandra Lee, are actually a married couple. Unfortunately, Danem died of a heart attack on September 14, 2012, shortly before the film's release.
• In the final scene, when Alex is looking for his father in the empty bedroom, you can hear the boy (presumably White) calling his sister Katherine, not Alex.
• The frog-shaped air purifier in White and Robbie's room disappears and reappears with each shot change.
• When Alex goes out into the garden with Ben after a night with friends, her hair is curly. When she returns, it is straight.
• After the ball bounces down the stairs, Alex goes up to investigate the sound, and the ball is still on the stairs. By the time she comes down, the ball is gone.
• When Alex climbs into the treehouse with Ben, she has curly hair, but in the next shot, her hair is straight.
• In one scene, Alex walks through scattered toys into White’s room. She checks his closet, and at that moment, a toy train behind her starts moving on its own. Startled, she turns to go downstairs. When she walks back out of his room, the toys are gone.
