What's left behind the scenes

  • Several cars for the film were created at the Lucra Cars workshop located in California.
  • Dennis McCarthy, responsible for the cars used in the film, said that they used "an entire fleet of BMW M5s" to film one scene. McCarthy also said: "Then we wrecked practically all of those cars while filming other scenes."
  • Vin Diesel’s Dodge Daytona was custom-built. The car was reworked by McCarthy and his team from an old vehicle they initially purchased for $5,000.
  • Jason Statham and David Tennant were considered for the villain role, which ultimately went to Luke Evans.
  • No matter where the heroes are in London, they always drive past the same Route 4 double-decker bus.
  • Hobbs states that the BMW M5 has a V8 engine. The current F10 version does, but the older E60 shown in the film has a naturally aspirated V10.
  • Before the NATO base scene, Luke is on the phone and appears clean-shaven. In the following scene, he has a goatee again.
  • The vending machine that Hobbs shoots at in the London scene contains chocolate bars found only in vending machines in the USA, not in the UK.
  • In the scene before the Interpol headquarters, as the criminals drive away, Gisele grabs a weapon and starts to run into the middle of the street. On the right, a fire hydrant and a newspaper box are visible. Then the frame shifts upwards, where a sniper is looking down at her, and it is clearly seen that she is standing almost in the middle of the road, and the fire hydrant and newspaper box are no longer there. In the next moment, Han tackles Gisele, saving her from the sniper's bullets, and the fire hydrant and newspaper box "miraculously" reappear. Behind them, Gisele and Han take cover from the sniper fire.
  • In the scene where Dominic Toretto chases the plane, he didn't shift gears – he simply touched the automatic transmission box.
  • Starting at 1:22:43 during the phone conversation, Hobbs is seen to be clean-shaven. In the scenes before and after this, he has heavy stubble.
  • The scene at the end of the film with the plane landing and taking off, from its approach over the runway to the explosion, lasts about 12 minutes. Considering that the average takeoff and landing speed of an An-124 is about 240 km/h, the length of the runway the plane covers during the scene is approximately 48 km.
  • In the scene before the Interpol office, as the criminals drive away, Jezel grabs a weapon and begins to run into the middle of the street, and to the right, a fire hydrant and a newspaper box are visible. Then the frame switches upwards, where a sniper is looking down at her, and it is clearly visible that she is standing almost in the middle of the road, and the fire hydrant and newspaper box are no longer there. In the next moment, Khan tackles Jezel, saving her from the sniper's bullets, and the fire hydrant and newspaper box "miraculously" reappear, behind which Jezel and Khan take cover from the sniper's fire.
