What's left behind the scenes
- Josh O'Connor filmed half of his scenes as Arthur in Alice Rohrwacher's "Chimera," then paused to play Patrick in Luca Guadagnino's sports drama "Challengers" (2024), and then returned to Italy to finish filming "Chimera."
- Josh O'Connor was so eager to work with Alice Rohrwacher that he wrote to her five times over the past three years. He didn't know the director's address, always writing 'Italy' in the address field on the envelope, so only one letter actually reached her.
- Alice Rohrwacher imagined Arthur as being older, so the thought of casting Josh O'Connor for the role never even crossed her mind. However, after meeting the actor in person, she realized that he was, at heart, exactly as she pictured Arthur, and cast him in the role.
