Short description
Alienated teen Pauline struggles with the pressures of fitting into high school, pleasing her mother and a burning desire to lose her virginity. With a grotesque curiosity for the darker side of life, Pauline is considered a social outcast by everyone around her. Enticed by flesh, she retreats into her own fantasies and hopes to become a great surgeon - that is, if she doesn't go insane first.

- John Waters agreed to the role of the priest on two conditions – not to fly to the set in economy class and not to shave off his signature mustache.
- AnnaLynn McCord was very interested in participating in the project, and although director Richard Bates Jr. doubted that she could handle such a complex character, the actress managed to impress him during a personal meeting when, in response to the fact that she would have to shave her head for the final scene, she took a knife and began to cut off her curls.
