What's left behind the scenes
- High mountains are visible in the background in at least five scenes, including the airport scene, the scene with Nicholas’ school bus, and when the children are walking across the wasteland. The supposed setting is San Antonio (Texas), but this doesn’t align with the real mountains we see in the background. The end credits do mention that some scenes were filmed in Arizona, including in Phoenix, Buckeye, and Avondale, which actually have numerous mountain ranges.
