Short description
An aspiring opera singer finds herself transported back to Victorian-era London -- and into the arms of a reclusive, disfigured maestro determined to make her a star.
What's left behind the scenes
- Don E. Little, along with Robert Englund, planned to film a sequel, but unfortunately the film was not made due to lack of funding.
- When the Phantom appears on screen in full makeup, three layers of makeup are applied to actor Robert Englund’s face: makeup for the Phantom’s disfigured face, topped with prosthetic makeup (a nasal prosthesis and pieces of skin), and topped with a layer of cosmetic makeup.
- During the filming of the fire episode in the Phantom’s lair, hot melted wax accidentally spilled on actress Jill Schoelen, burning her hand and shoulder. After that, director Dwight H. Little barely managed to persuade the injured actress to do two more takes of this episode.
