What's left behind the scenes

  • The last phrase Wayne utters after his phone call with Jeff is “Chi soh hai bin do ah.” It is logical to assume this is a farewell, but in reality, it’s a question that translates as “Where is the toilet?”
  • The episode during the “Waynestock” is a loose interpretation of the situation during the Woodstock rock festival in 1969, when attendees were specifically warned not to take “acid.”
  • Director Steven Surjik played a small role in the scene at the gas station.
  • The box office success of the first "Wayne's World" film (Penelope Spheeris, 1992) took the studio by surprise, and preparations for a sequel began immediately. The contracts of the lead actors contained vague references to participation in sequels, but all of this required further discussion. It was also necessary to discuss allowing Mike Myers and Dana Carvey to request changes to the plot. Due to all these delays, no one expected filming to begin before February 1993. Although Mike Myers hoped to write the sequel's screenplay himself, the credits state that he ultimately worked in collaboration with Bonnie and Terry Turner, the screenwriters of the first film.
  • In the scene where Garth floats in the air kissing Honey, and then falls when she lets him go, Dana Carvey fell and hit himself badly.
  • Filming began on June 24, 1993, in Los Angeles.
  • The film was supposed to feature the song "Age of Consent" by the British electronic rock group New Order, but there was no money in the budget for royalties, so at the last moment a group of session musicians were assembled to record a cover version.
  • When Wayne encounters Jim Morrison (1943-1971) and a naked Native American in the desert, and Morrison tells him he needs to put on a concert – this episode was inspired by an incident from Mike Myers' own life, when he was searching for himself and the meaning of life after his father's death.
  • Lee Tergesen and Dan Bell reprise their roles as Terry and Neal, as they did in Penelope Spheeris's "Wayne's World" (1992). Throughout the film, neither of them is ever addressed by name. Terry's identity was established in the first film, and Neal is never addressed by name in either film.
  • The film was intended as a Christmas blockbuster, but it was received cooler by audiences than the first film in the franchise. The fact that the film had to compete with such pictures as "Mrs. Doubtfire" (Chris Columbus, 1993), "Schindler's List" (Steven Spielberg, 1993), and "The Pelican Brief" (Alan J. Pakula, 1993) also played a role.
  • Aerosmith’s supposed performance in Chicago actually took place in San Diego, California. Both Mike Myers and Dana Carvey were present in the audience and operated the camera.
  • When Garth floats in the air during his kiss with Honey, the cable supporting him is clearly visible.
  • When Garth and the biker rescue Wayne after his fall, the reflection of the operator appears in the window.
