What's left behind the scenes
- Kevin Peter Hall (1955-1991) was 218 cm tall, and in the Harry costume, he reached 243 cm.
- Before the film's release, its creators preferred to keep Harry a secret – he was only shown fleetingly in promotional materials and trailers. This is precisely why the film was not more successful (the fact that the 'star' is a Bigfoot was not emphasized in the advertising campaign).
- According to special effects supervisor Rick Baker, he was guided by images of orangutans when creating Harry's image – and especially his beard.
