What's left behind the scenes

  • Zak Kreggar wrote the screenplay after reading Gavin de Becker’s book "The Gift of Fear" (1997), which advises women to trust their intuition when meeting men who appear dangerous. Kreggar began writing a short film script, but he liked what he had so much that he decided to turn it into a feature film.
  • Richard Brake, who played Frank, described on social media how he once went to see the film at a late-night showing. Near him in the audience sat a group of teenagers who were clearly affected by the film. After the screening, the lights in the hall weren't turned on for some reason, and the audience began to make their way out using the light from their phones – the light fell on Brake’s face, the teenagers recognized him and fled in horror.
  • Zak Kreggar made it a rule not to use special effects technologies that John Carpenter did not have available when he filmed "The Thing" in 1982. Therefore, the only digital special effects used in this film are the grass shown in the 1980s flashback.
