• One of the characters wears a baseball cap with the inscription “Vienna Inn Est. 1960.” Vienna Inn is a bar and restaurant in Vienna, Virginia, near the CIA headquarters in Langley. Furthermore, Vienna Inn is a local trademark, once the main distributor of Budweiser beer in the United States. Vienna Inn is also famous for its chili dogs and perpetually irritated and dissatisfied staff.
• Jay Natelli, who played Greg in the film, appeared in a small role as a juror in the 11th episode of the 4th season of the original television series “The Equalizer” (1985-1989). The role was so minor that the actor’s name wasn’t even mentioned in the credits.
• The fictional town in southern Italy was filmed in Atrani, in the province of Salerno. Dakota Fanning (who played Emma here) previously starred in the miniseries “Ripley,” based on Patricia Highsmith’s 1955 novel and the film “The Talented Mr. Ripley” (Anthony Minghella, 1999), which was also filmed in Atrani.
