What's left behind the scenes

  • Once, Terry Gilliam asked the legendary animator Bob Godfrey (1921-2013) if he could help with the animated inserts for the film, and Godfrey, who didn't know who Gilliam was, told him to get lost. Only later did Godfrey learn that Gilliam was a member of the comedy group "Monty Python" and fulfilled his request.
  • The phrase taken as the film's title was repeatedly used when transitioning from one sketch to another in the television series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1969-1974).
  • The six members of "Monty Python" themselves played over 100 minor characters in the collection – changing their appearance with makeup and wardrobe and simply through acting skill.
