Once, Terry Gilliam asked the legendary animator Bob Godfrey (1921-2013) if he could help with the animated inserts for the film, and Godfrey, who didn't know who Gilliam was, told him to get lost. Only later did Godfrey learn that Gilliam was a member of the comedy group "Monty Python" and fulfilled his request.
The phrase taken as the film's title was repeatedly used when transitioning from one sketch to another in the television series "Monty Python's Flying Circus" (1969-1974).
The six members of "Monty Python" themselves played over 100 minor characters in the collection – changing their appearance with makeup and wardrobe and simply through acting skill.
