What's left behind the scenes
- On the very first day of work on the film, John Heder, who voiced Reginald Skulinski, broke his leg.
- The film is set on the outskirts of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, although this fact is never explicitly mentioned.
- The filmmakers used 3D motion capture technology – digitally recording the actors' performances and then converting them into animated characters.
