What's left behind the scenes
- To show how Meryl Streep's breasts would rise and become firm after drinking the potion, a special pneumatic bra was developed, but it did not produce the desired effect. Therefore, a makeup artist stood behind Streep, out of camera view, and manually lifted her breasts.
- Helen drank the potion on October 26, 1985 – this is the date of the 'present' from Zemeckis's other film, 'Back to the Future'.
- During the filming of one of the brawl scenes, Meryl Streep accidentally gave Goldie Hawn a scar on her cheek.
- Reviews following the preview screenings were mostly negative, and the film underwent extensive re-editing, completely changing its ending.
