What's left behind the scenes

  • Some episodes of the film were shot at the Yalta Film Studio in Crimea.
  • Jackie Chan arrived in Moscow in early January 1996 and immediately departed for Simferopol. On January 17th, he returned and continued filming in Red Square and Krylatskoye. In total, Jackie spent about a month in Ukraine and Russia.
  • Filming in Crimea took place at Swallow's Nest and the Foros Church, while in Moscow it was done in Krylatskoye and Red Square.
  • Since Annie Wu did not speak Cantonese at the time, all her scenes, including family scenes, were filmed in Mandarin.
  • The scenes filmed in the snowy mountains of Ukraine, where Jackie arrived on a snowmobile, were actually filmed in Australia. If you look closely, you can see many green eucalyptus trees.
  • The American version of the film is 30 minutes shorter than the Hong Kong version.
  • This is the first film in the «Police Story» series to be partially filmed in English.
  • During filming, Jackie Chan broke the front part of his jaw, damaged his oral cavity, and his nose.
  • Most of the equipment was kindly provided by Mitsubishi Motors.
  • The sharks in the film were made by the Wellington Robotechnology Institute of New Zealand. 3 robotic grey sharks were 3.5 meters long and weighed approximately 100 kilograms dry each. These pneumatic sharks were designed to swim independently in saltwater alongside real sharks.
  • When Jackie jumps onto the boat in the red car, the airbag remains inflated, although it should deflate immediately.
  • This is the first film in the "Police Story" series that was partially filmed in English.
  • Most of the equipment was kindly provided by Mitsubishi Motors.
