At one point, Leslie Nielsen’s character (1926-2010) was supposed to meet Richard Kimble, played by Harrison Ford (Ford played this character in Andrew Davis’s 1993 thriller “The Fugitive”), in the sewers, but this idea was never realized.
Canadian soldiers from a unit stationed in Vancouver, British Columbia, played the role of Scottish soldiers.
The names of most of the characters were taken from cities in the state of Minnesota. The screenwriter and director, Pat Proft, is from Minnesota.
In the hospital scene, Dr. Benton, Dr. Carter, Dr. Greene, and Dr. Ross are called over the intercom. These are all characters from the TV series "ER" (1994-2009).
