What's left behind the scenes
- Riggs (Mel Gibson) eats dog biscuits in order to quit smoking. In "Mad Max 2" (1981), the character played by Mel eats dog food to survive.
- During the chase after the armored car, Delores exclaims that it is the "Warrior of the Road." The American title of "Mad Max 2" (1981), starring Mel Gibson, is "The Road Warrior".
- Please watch the end credits until the very end, as there is a short scene after them.
- Murtaugh’s boat is called “Code 7”, which is the Los Angeles Police Department’s code for a lunch break.
- During the scene where Riggs and Lorna compare scars, many of Riggs’ scars relate to events in “Lethal Weapon 2” (1989), specifically the scar from a gunshot wound to the lung and the scar from a knife wound to the leg.

Later, participants in all four films would call this explosion the best of all those they had to film.
- This is the only film in this film series where the villains did not threaten the Murtaugh family.
