• The correct translation of the title is "Kingdom of Animals." It refers to the biological kingdom.
• Filming was completed a month later than planned due to a forest fire in August 2022.
• Two years before filming, director and screenwriter Toma Kayé worked with comic book author Frederik Peters for six months, creating mammals, birds, arthropods, and so on. The result was used to create the creatures in the film. Kayé sought inspiration in the works of sculptors Patricia Piccinini and Ron Mueck because he didn't want the animals to look particularly cool.
• The idea for the film appeared in a screenplay by Pauline Munier while she was studying at the National Higher School of Audiovisual Arts (École Nationale Supérieure des Métiers de l'Image et du Son). One of those who was brought in to evaluate student screenplays was Toma Kayé.
