Short description
A suicidally disillusioned liberal politician puts a contract out on himself and takes the opportunity to be bluntly honest with his voters by affecting the rhythms and speech of hip-hop music and culture.
What's left behind the scenes
- When director Warren Beatty chose Ennio Morricone (1928-2020) as the composer, many objected. Their objections were particularly due to the fee Morricone demanded (around a million dollars), but Beatty prevailed in his dispute with the producers. Despite all these circumstances, only about 10 minutes of music composed by Morricone made it into the final version of the film, while the rest of the time features rap and similar music. It is claimed that Morricone himself was very unhappy with how the director treated the music he wrote for the film.
- Aaron Sorkin and James Toback did a lot of work on the script, but their names were not mentioned in the credits.
