The original title of the film was “South Park: All Hell Breaks Loose,” but the American Association of Film opposed the use of the word “hell” in the title. The title was changed to a more innocuous, yet ambiguous, one.
The entire process of creating the film took about a year.
No scenes were cut from the film.
As in the series, aliens can often be noticed in the film in detail or in the background. Here they are depicted on most banknotes; Cartman also has a picture of an alien in his room, and an alien can be seen in the crowd at the end of the film.

The end credits state that Saddam Hussein voiced himself.
