Rookie cop, Amelia Donaghy reluctantly teams with Lincoln Rhyme – formerly the department's top homicide detective but now paralyzed as a result of a spinal injury – to catch a grisly serial killer dubbed 'The Bone Collector'. The murderer's special signature is to leave tantalizing clues based on the grim remains of his crimes.
What's left behind the scenes
- In an interview, Jolie said that there was supposed to be a scene in the film where she appeared nude, but Noyes cut it out during editing.
- Director Philip Noyes himself wasn't very happy with the finished film. After the release of David Fincher's thriller “Se7en” (1995), every studio wanted to have a film featuring an imitator of some serial killer. Noyes felt that by agreeing to direct this film, he had joined an assembly line, although he perfectly understood that he could never reach Fincher's level.
