Due to a change in the project’s format and a reduction in screen time, all scenes with characters played by Eliza Butterworth, Timothy Innes, Fia Saban, Ryan Carmby, Ruby Hartley, and Finn Elliot were cut from the film.
Screenwriter Bernard Cornwell stated in one interview that the decision to make the character played by Harry Gilby gay in his books was based on the following facts: this character never married or had children, and he also enjoyed styling his hair. There is no historical evidence to support this assumption.
