Short description
Mollie is a single working mother who's out to find the perfect father for her child. Her baby, Mikey, prefers James, a cab driver turned babysitter who has what it takes to make them both happy. But Mollie won't even consider James. It's going to take all the tricks a baby can think of to bring them together before it's too late.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The idea for the film came to Amy Heckerling when her husband, screenwriter and director Neil Israel, began to imitate the voice of their young child, pretending to voice his thoughts.
  • The plot is set in New York, but for financial reasons, filming was organized in Vancouver, in the Canadian province of British Columbia.
  • Initially, Amy Heckerling proposed filming this movie to The Walt Disney Company, but her boss, Michael Eisner, decided that the film was too explicit even for the subsidiary studio Touchstone Pictures. Paramount Pictures, Warner Bros, Orion Pictures, 20th Century Fox, and Universal Studios also declined to film the movie.
