Short description
After the lord of darkness decides he will not cede his throne to any of his three sons, the two most powerful of them escape to Earth to create a kingdom for themselves. This action closes the portal filtering sinful souls to Hell and causes Satan to wither away. He must send his most weak but beloved son, Little Nicky, to Earth to return his brothers to Hell.
What's left behind the scenes
- Quentin Tarantino plays the episodic role of a blind priest who goes mad as Nicky approaches.
- Patricia Arquette was cast as Valerie without even an audition.
- During the filming of the basketball game scene, Dana Carvey, who played the referee, broke his ankle. So he spent the remaining shooting days with a cane.
- Filming began on November 2, 1999, in New York and wrapped up at the end of March 2000.
- Dustin Hoffman was originally cast as Satan, but was later replaced by Harvey Keitel.
- Midway through the film, when Nikki enters Heaven, dance instructor Chaps appears. Holly mentions that he was once a professional golfer on Earth. This is a reference to the film 'Happy Gilmore' (1996), in which actor Carl Weathers played the role of a former professional golfer.
