Actor Ted White, who played Jason, refused to interact with the other actors on set. He believed this would diminish their fear of Jason. He also refused to be credited in the titles, as he was initially ashamed of the role and only agreed to play it for a good fee.
Tom Savini, the original special effects artist from the first film, returned to the series to work on “The Final Chapter.”
The film features 13 corpses.
In the original script version, the character of Corey Feldman was supposed to decapitate Jason in the finale, but Tom Savini managed to "defend" the head of the main "hero," thus ensuring subsequent sequels.
It wasn't until the fourth installment that the filmmakers finally revealed Jason's mother's name – until then, the character of Betsy Palmer was simply referred to as "Mrs. Voorhees".
The first murder in this film occurs precisely at the 13th minute.
