Short description
Four best friends (Tibby, Lena, Carmen & Bridget) who buy a mysterious pair of pants that fits each of them, despite their differing sizes, and makes whoever wears them feel fabulous. When faced with the prospect of spending their first summer apart, the pals decide they'll swap the pants so that each girl in turn can enjoy the magic.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The scene where the heroines played by Amber Tamblyn and Jenna Boyd lie in a park and look at the starry sky was filmed in a park near the sound stage. Some scenes were shot in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, and its surroundings, and filming in the sound stage allowed the actors and crew to avoid working outdoors on cold Canadian nights. The scene where the heroine played by Alexis Bledel gets trapped underwater was filmed there as well.
  • Less than a week before the scheduled start of filming, the family in whose house they were going to film the dwelling of the heroine played by Amber Tamblyn decided they didn't want to allow the film crew into their home. As a result, a new location had to be urgently found to film the living room scene, and the bedroom set had to be built in the sound stage.
  • To film one of the scenes, the camera had to be placed on rails laid out in a circle around the main heroines. Unfortunately, completing a full circle of the camera around the heroines seemed impossible because at some point, it would start to move in front of the spotlights, creating a shadow. Fortunately, the special effects specialists were able to solve this problem by simply 'erasing' the shadow from the frame.
