What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is based on the novel "The Invisible" by Mats Wahl (Den Osynlige, 2000).
  • This is not the first attempt to adapt Mats Wahl's novel for the screen – a film of the same name was released in Sweden in 2002, but it did not achieve the same success as its subsequent Hollywood version.
  • Filming took place from September 30 to December 2, 2005, in Vancouver (Canada) and its surroundings. Scenes taking place at the school were filmed at Burnaby Mountain Secondary School in the Vancouver suburb of Burnaby.
  • The storyline involving drug trafficking was completely cut from the final version. The director and producers believed that its inclusion would lead to an undesirable R rating (under 17s admitted only with an adult), and that it was not an essential part of the main plot anyway.
  • The film is based on the novel 'The Invisible' (Den Osynlige, 2000) by Mats Wahl.
