What's left behind the scenes

  • The long scene in which Joel Moore's character rides an electric scooter around the house could not be shot in one take, because at one point the operator with the camera ran into a fence.
  • When Joel Moore’s character tells Kevin Nylund’s character about the game Demonik, he responds: “It’s a total Miyamoto.” This is a reference to Shigeru Miyamoto, a Japanese game designer, the creator of such video game series as Mario, Donkey Kong, The Hyrule, and others.
  • In the scene where the grandmother is gardening and Samantha drives up, the house behind the grandmother is the same one used in the series “Charmed”; the last season of the series was filmed around the same time as the film.
  • When Joel Moore's character tells the character played by Kevin Nylund about the Demonik game, he replies: "It's a complete Miyamoto." This is a reference to Shigeru Miyamoto, a Japanese game designer and creator of video game series such as Mario, Donkey Kong, The Hyrule, and others.
