- During the filming of this movie, Michelle Pfeiffer was pregnant. To conceal this, the filmmakers resorted to various tricks, such as having Pfeiffer's character wear long skirts and loose sweaters, or filming the actress from angles that hid her stomach.
- Scenes with actor Andy Garcia in the role of Pfeiffer's character's lover were filmed, but were cut during editing.
