Short description
The life story of New Zealander Burt Munro, who spent years building a 1920 Indian motorcycle—a bike which helped him set the land-speed world record at Utah's Bonneville Salt Flats in 1967.

What's left behind the scenes

  • In the film, Burt Munro reached a speed of 201 mph (323 km/h). In reality, his best successful run was 190 mph (305 km/h). During a test run, he accelerated to 205.67 (330.92 km/h), but it ended in a crash (as it did in the film).
  • The film takes place in 1962, while the data is from 1967, when he set the record.
