Short description
Mikey and Rose are professional assassins. They are also lovers, and once upon a time Rose also knew Mikey's father. During an elaborate hit job for a malicious gangster, Rose fails to kill the main target, the gangster's pregnant girlfriend. Instead, she delivers her baby and convinces Mikey to help her protect them both. As Rose weakens from cancer, Mikey becomes breadwinner for this unusual family. But tranquility will not last.
What's left behind the scenes
- This film marked the directorial debut of renowned producer Lee Daniels, who created "Monster's Ball" and "The Woodsman." The screenplay was written by Will Rokos.
- Cuba Gooding Jr. replaced Ryan Phillippe, who was unable to film due to his commitments to other projects. LL Cool J and Mos Def were also considered for the role.
- Wes Bentley was supposed to play a gangster hunting the main characters, but he was replaced by Stephen Dorff.
- Angelica Huston was initially considered for the role of Rose, but Helen Mirren ultimately played the character.
