What's left behind the scenes

  • The apartment scenes were filmed on a set, which gave the film crew a certain freedom of action: walls could be removed and reinstalled, cameras could be positioned to capture scenes from the best angles, and so on. As for the views of London, preference was given to wall-sized screens rather than a green screen. Everything needed was filmed in the city, and then simply projected onto the screens.
  • Jamie Bell (who played the father) wore brown contact lenses to more closely match the eye color of Andrew Scott (who played Adam).
  • The house where Adam meets his parents again is the house where director and screenwriter Andrew Haigh lived many years ago.
