Austin was raised in Sonoma County and has had a passion for filmmaking since childhood. His work often explores internal struggles, with frequent use of themes like trauma, family and isolation. Austin's directorial debut Donovan Reid premiered at the San Francisco Independent Film Festival in 2019, and he has since made a career in TV editing. His upcoming directing work includes a survival thriller (To Die Alone) and a documentary (The Rescued).
