Abu-bakr S. Adamu is an award-winning Nigerian filmmaker, director, screenwriter, and editor. Born in Kubwa, FCT but grew up in Suleja.
His contact with filmmaking came earlier in his life at the age of 11 making videos with his friends on mobile phones. His short film "Tsoro Da Ruwa" screened at several international film festivals and was nominated for best actor and director at the Ibadan Indie Film Awards in the year 2023.
In 2024, he was selected as a cohort of the first Film Lab Africa Accelerator program. He is also an alumni of the prestigious KAP Film And Television Academy. While pursuing a degree in Building Technology at the Federal University Of Technology Minna, Abu-bakr remains deeply rooted in his cinematic endeavors. His distinctive style is an exploration of societal complexities, a fusion of horror and drama, all linked with a profound embrace of African culture, notably drawing inspiration from the vibrant of Northern Nigeria.
Together with a collective of creative minds, Abu-bakr founded Alpha Flicks, a powerhouse of talent and innovation. Collaboratively, they have breathed life into numerous captivating film, music video, commercial, and documentary projects. Abu-bakr's films, renowned for their thought-provoking narratives and poignant, often tragic conclusions, leave audiences both moved and inspired.
