Laura Eden Kilmer was born in the Washington, DC suburbs and lived in Maine and Florida before eventually landing in New Orleans. They hold a Bachelor's in Film Arts from The University of New Orleans. They recently completed an internship for The Department of Motion Pictures and postproduction for their second short film, "The Sinister Side of Her." (May 2023) After dropping out of high school at 16, they spent their young adult years venturing to experience all life had to offer, while eschewing the traditional paths. As a lifelong impassioned writer, artist, and cinephile, they returned to school to earn their degree and gain valuable hands-on experience in filmmaking. They are an enthusiastic advocate for marginalized communities, and as a queer person, their interest and filmmaking goals lie in uplifting creators and stories that have been historically overlooked, underrepresented, and devalued by the film industry.
