The triathlon swim was filmed in open water in Alicante, Spain, as the water in the Seine is too polluted.
A significant portion of the underwater filming was done in a closed pavilion in Belgium.
Before filming began, all the actors involved in the film spent five weeks in rehearsals.
Director and screenwriter Xavier Jans offered this project to French production companies, but they all declined.
