Short description
A young teenage werewolf is torn between honoring her family's secret and her love for a man.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film is based on the novel "Blood and Chocolate" by Annette Curtis Klause (1997).
  • Since 1997, when the idea of adapting the novel first arose, directors Larry Williams and his wife Leslie Libman, Po-Chien Leong, Sandji Senaka, and Rupert Wainwright were considered for the project. Katia von Garnier signed on to direct the film in January 2005.
  • Filming took place in Bucharest, in part because Katia von Garnier wanted to film real wild wolves, which still live in Romanian forests, rather than computer-generated virtual models.
  • The first draft of the script was written by Christopher Landon, whose father Michael Landon starred in the film "I Was a Teenage Werewolf" (1957).
