What's left behind the scenes
- When Frank meets a girl on a dating site, she says she pictured him as overweight, with long black hair and problem skin. This is exactly how the protagonist of the original film looked.
- After Frank kills the girl in the parking lot, he stands with a knife in one hand and a scalp in the other. His reflection can be seen in the car door, styled like a poster for the original film 'Maniac' (1980).
- All of Elijah Wood's lines were written during post-production, however, the actor was present on set from beginning to end, even when he wasn't in the frame. During filming, he simply stood behind the camera operator.
