The film's director, John Badham, appeared in a cameo role as a hotel janitor.
The film was shot in chronological order. Director John Badham decided this would make it easier for Bridget Fonda to portray the development of her character.
In the scene in the hospital room, when the main character is shown from behind, her bandaged leg is bent and her knee is approximately at shoulder level. When the character is shown from the front, the leg lies almost flat on the bed.
