• Josh Brolin's father, James Brolin, played Ronald Reagan in the film "The Reagans" (2003).
• According to James Cromwell, who played George H.W. Bush, the role was offered to Warren Beatty and Harrison Ford.
• Brolin had to lose weight rapidly when playing young Bush, and then gain it back just as quickly.
