Short description

- In 2000, the American Film Institute ranked the film 82nd on its list of the 100 funniest comedies of all time.
- According to Goldie Hawn's memoirs, Arthur Hiller was the studio's first choice for director, but he left the project at a very early stage of production.
- Penelope Spheeris was offered the director's position for the film.
- Eileen Brennan and Hal Williams reprised their roles in the 1981-1983 television series based on the film. Damita Jo Freeman also appeared in the series, but her character had a different name despite the physical resemblance.
