Andrew Bergman was originally slated to direct the film. He was also tasked with reworking the original screenplay.
Christian Kane and Brittany Murphy had previously worked together on the film "Summer Games" (2001).
During the filming of a scene with a cockroach, the nimble insect managed to get lost, and all work was interrupted to catch the fugitive, which took about twenty minutes.
Brittany Murphy did not speak French at all, so she had to memorize all her lines in that language by heart, paying attention to correct pronunciation.
