Short description
The night after another unsatisfactory New Year's party, Tim's father tells his son that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. They can't change history, but they can change what happens and has happened in their own lives. Thus begins the start of a lesson in learning to appreciate life itself as it is, as it comes, and most importantly, the people living alongside us.

What's left behind the scenes

  • Filming took place in London and Cornwall.
  • At the end of the film, Rory is reading a book called "Trash." Richard Curtis's next film, for which he wrote the screenplay, is "Trash" (2014).
  • Zoe Deschanel was initially cast as Mary, but she left the project due to scheduling conflicts, and Rachel McAdams ultimately took on the role.
  • This is Richard Griffiths' last film.
  • The film was initially released to theaters under the title "Cupboard".
  • The film's release date in the US coincided with the birthday of director Richard Curtis.
  • At the beginning of the film, during the New Year's Eve party, the song "All The Things She Said" by t.A.T.u. is playing.
  • This is not the first film in which Rachel McAdams plays the role of a girl in love with the main character who travels through time. She previously played a similar role in "The Time Traveler's Wife" (2008) and "Midnight in Paris" (2011).
  • There is a spelling mistake in the end credits in the name of singer Cat Power (listed as Cat Powers).
  • When Tim spills cream on Charlotte's back, the position of the stain on her back changes between shots. And the cap from the bottle disappears in close-ups.
  • The film was released to cinemas under the title “Cupboard”.
