The fifth Godzilla film, the third about Mothra, the second about Rodan, and the first about Ghidorah.

Toho Studio did not reveal to the public that Godzilla was played by a man in a suit until the film's release.

This is the first film to feature both Godzilla and Rodan together. Subsequently, Rodan never appeared without Godzilla.
