Toho Studio did not reveal to the public that Godzilla was played by a man in a suit until the film's release.
The actor Hisaya Ito, playing Malness, never removes his sunglasses throughout the entire film.
This is the first film to feature both Godzilla and Rodan together. Subsequently, Rodan never appeared without Godzilla.
When Rodan takes flight over the crater for the first time, Godzilla's roar is heard instead of his usual cry.
