Short description
Fletcher Reede is a fast-talking attorney and habitual liar. When his son Max blows out the candles on his fifth birthday he has just one wish - that his dad will stop lying for 24 hours. When Max's wish comes true, Fletcher discovers that his mouth has suddenly become his biggest liability.
What's left behind the scenes
- The film is dedicated to Jason Bernard, who played Judge Stevens and passed away from a heart attack shortly after filming.
- The teacher in class reads "Green Eggs and Ham" by Dr. Seuss to Max and the other children, who also wrote the fairy tale "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," in which Jim Carrey plays the Grinch.
- For this film, Jim Carrey turned down the role of Dr. Evil in "Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery" (1997).
- Steve Martin was originally slated to play Fletcher Reed, but he declined the role due to commitments to other projects.
