The stylistic design of the end credits is inspired by the films "Planet of the Apes" (1968, 2001), while the visual design is taken from "Planet of the Apes" (1968).
The deserted road that the main characters take to the cave had previously appeared in David Fincher's film "Se7en" (1995).
The film was initially given an R rating (persons under 17 require accompanying parent or adult guardian), but some scenes were cut, and the rating was changed to PG-13 (parents are strongly cautioned – some material may be inappropriate for children under 13).
