Short description
Set in 1944 France, an American Intelligence Squad locates a German Platoon wishing to surrender rather than die in Germany's final war offensive. The two groups of men, isolated from the war at present, put aside their differences and spend Christmas together before the surrender plan turns bad and both sides are forced to fight the other.
What's left behind the scenes
- A screen adaptation of William Wharton's novel.
- Producers considered the borders of France, Germany, and Poland as a filming location before choosing Yuta to save money.
- Filming took place during one of the coldest winters in Utah. At night, the temperature dropped below -30 degrees Fahrenheit during most of the shooting.
- The interiors of the mansion were built in a local gymnasium. The attic was constructed on the site of the school's stage.
- The mansion consisted of three walls built in a remote area on the hills.
